ADA Accessibility

Making Our Waterfront Accessible to Everyone

At the Port of Bandon, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the beauty, recreation, and unique character of our working waterfront. We are committed to providing accessible facilities and accommodations that allow residents and visitors of all ages and abilities to enjoy the Coquille River, explore our waterfront, and participate in the activities that make Bandon special.

Through continued investments in public infrastructure and recreational facilities, the Port strives to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

ADA-Accessible Facilities & Amenities

Pullen Pier – ADA-Accessible Fishing Pier

Located along the western side of the marina Riverwalk, Pullen Pier provides an accessible fishing experience overlooking the Coquille River. Completed in 2022, the pier was specifically designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities, incorporating ADA-compliant ramp slopes, railings, kick plates, and accessible walking and rolling surfaces. This facility provides an opportunity for anglers of varying abilities to enjoy fishing without the need for a boat.

ADA-Accessible Kayak Launch

As part of the Port's marina redevelopment project, an ADA-accessible kayak launch was incorporated to expand recreational opportunities for individuals with mobility limitations. This facility is designed to make accessing the water easier and more inclusive, allowing more people to experience the Coquille River through kayaking and other compatible recreational activities.

Marina Access and Gangway

The Port's newly redeveloped marina includes a 100-foot-long, gently sloping gangway connecting the main boarding pier to the marina docks. This improvement is designed to provide more convenient access for marina users, including individuals with mobility challenges. As with all floating marina facilities, gangway slopes may vary depending on tidal conditions.

Boardwalk and Waterfront Amenities

The Port of Bandon Boardwalk offers visitors opportunities to enjoy scenic river views, public art, waterfront activities, and gathering spaces. Amenities include benches, a glass-enclosed picnic shelter, and an outdoor amphitheater. Visitors with specific accessibility needs are encouraged to contact the Port for information about access to individual facilities.

Public Facilities and Restrooms

The Port's new High Dock Harbor Office, located at the eastern end of the Boardwalk between the marina and boat ramp, provides additional public restrooms and improved visitor services. Visitors seeking information about accessible restroom facilities and other accommodations are encouraged to contact Port staff.

Public Meetings and Accessibility Accommodations

The Port of Bandon is committed to providing opportunities for all members of the community to participate in public meetings and Port activities.

Individuals requiring disability-related accommodations, including assistance for hearing impairments or interpreter services, are encouraged to contact the Port office at least 48 hours before a scheduled public meeting so appropriate arrangements can be made.
